A 1-D numerical model of the marine mixed layer has been developed and coupled with a 2-D sea and land breeze model in order to study the role played by the solar heating and surface cooling due to long wave radiation, evaporation and sensible heat in determining the structure of the marine surface layer in a diurnal cycle. Results show that: (1) during the night the coastal waters are homogeneous down to the Womens Nike Air Force White sea bottom; (2) salt contribution to buoyancy is negligible unless near river outlets or on seasonal scale; (3) the transparency of the water is important in determining the depth Nike Air Max Tn Trainers of the mixed layer.
